PRIVACY

This page explains what is stored about you when you visit Hyper Global Mega Games, who stores it, and what you can do about it. Most of it is short, because most of what you do here never leaves your own device.

ADVERTISING

Advertising pays for the hosting. Ads on the main pages of this site are served by Google AdSense, and Google decides where on the page they appear. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to choose ads, to measure them and to limit how often you see the same one. Some of those cookies may be set on your device when you visit. Google explains this in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can turn off personalised advertising across the web at Google’s ad settings.

If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, you will be asked whether you consent to personalised ads before any are shown. That message comes from Google’s own consent tool, and your choice is remembered. You can change it at any time from the privacy link the consent tool puts on the page. If you say no, you may still see ads, but they won’t be based on what you have done elsewhere. Saying no doesn’t lock you out of anything: none of the games depend on advertising to run.

No advertising runs inside a game, or on the page that plays one. The games are served from a separate domain that carries no advertising code at all.

ANALYTICS

If you allow it, this site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and games people use. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where you are, your device and browser, and how you got here. It sets cookies on your device to tell repeat visits from new ones, and Google processes this data on our behalf. Google explains this in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Analytics doesn’t load until you choose Allow on the banner, and it isn’t used for advertising. This choice is separate from the one about ads. It is remembered in your browser, and you can change it at any time with the COOKIE SETTINGS link at the bottom of most pages. If you decline, you can still use everything here.

If you allow it, analytics runs on the main pages of this site and on the page that plays a game. It doesn’t run inside the games themselves, so it doesn’t see your high scores or how you play.

HIGH SCORES

Games keep their high scores and settings, such as whether the music is on, in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. They aren’t sent anywhere. Clearing your browser’s data for the site removes them.

THE SHARED SCOREBOARD

Three games, Grape Expectations, Roll-a-Ball Derby and Fairground Days, have a shared top twenty. If you choose to put a name to a score, that name, the score, how far you got and when are stored on our server and shown to everyone who plays. Only the name you type is kept, so don’t use your full name if you would rather not.

To stop one person filling the board, the server counts how many scores have arrived from the same network address in the last hour. It does this with a one-way hash of the address. The address itself is never stored, the hash can’t be turned back into one, and it is discarded after an hour. If you want an entry removed, ask through the contact page.

THE CONTACT FORM

If you send a message through the contact page, what you type is stored by our host, Netlify, so that we can read it. That includes your message and, if you give them, your name and a reply address. It’s used only to deal with your message, and it isn’t kept any longer than that needs.

HOSTING

The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify handles the network address and browser details of every request in order to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you are in the UK or the EEA, you can ask what we hold about you, and you can ask for it to be corrected or deleted. For this site that means, at most, a name on the scoreboard or a message you sent us. Ask through the contact page. For anything Google holds, use Google’s own tools.
